Strategic Zones

Six neighbourhoods define the CDMX experience for international visitors. Each has a distinct character, positioning and practical advantage during the tournament.

Mobility Intelligence

Mexico City is a metropolis of 22 million people. Getting around efficiently during the World Cup requires knowing the system — not just downloading an app.

Metro CDMX
12 Lines · $5 MXN
The largest metro system in Latin America — 12 lines, 195 stations. Line 2 connects directly to Estadio Azteca via Tasqueña + Tren Ligero. Buy a rechargeable card (tarjeta) at any station. Avoid rush hour 7–9am and 6–8pm.
· Keep phone and valuables secured at all times
· Line B is above ground — good for views
Uber & DiDi
Recommended · Safe
Safest option for international visitors — never hail street taxis. Uber Black for premium vehicles and airport trips. DiDi is often cheaper on shorter routes. Both apps work seamlessly across CDMX.
· Always confirm plate number before entering
· Uber Black for airport — allow 60 min peak hours
Tren Suburbano
AIFA Airport · $40 MXN
Suburban rail connecting Buenavista to AIFA (Felipe Ángeles Airport) in ~45 min. Fast, modern and dramatically cheaper than taxis. Departs every 30 min — buy ticket at the station, no app needed.
· Buenavista station is near the Historic Centre
· No rideshare surge pricing on this route
Metrobús
BRT · $8 MXN per trip
Bus Rapid Transit with dedicated lanes. Line 1 runs the full length of Insurgentes — the world's longest urban avenue. Stops at Reforma, Zona Rosa and Roma Norte. Often faster than taxis in peak hours.
· Requires rechargeable card (buy at any station)
· Line 4 connects to AICM airport Terminal 1
Airport Routes
AICM · AIFA
CDMX has two airports. AICM: Metro Line 5 connects directly. Uber Black ~$350–500 MXN. AIFA (50km north): Tren Suburbano from Buenavista, ~45 min, $40 MXN. Never take unmarked taxis.
· AICM Metro: Terminal Aérea station (Line 5)
· AIFA shuttle from Buenavista every 30 min
Match Day Strategy
Estadio Azteca
Best route to the Azteca: Metro Line 2 to Tasqueña, then Tren Ligero to the stadium. Leave 2.5 hours before kickoff. Roads are completely gridlocked on match days. Uber surge can be 3–4× normal — plan cash backup.
· Tasqueña → Estadio Azteca via Tren Ligero
· Uber surge is extreme on match days — plan cash

Member FAQs

Is this affiliated with FIFA or any official body?
No. United Pitch Pass operates independently as a private intelligence platform for World Cup travelers. We are not affiliated with FIFA, the Mexican Football Federation or any official tournament body.
Is member support available during the tournament?
Yes. During tournament weeks our support channel is active via WhatsApp for all active members. We can help with recommendations, navigation, restaurant bookings and general city intelligence — but we are not an emergency service.
Does the pass include official match tickets?
No. United Pitch Pass provides strategic access intelligence only — restaurants, hotels, transport, zones and city guides. Match tickets must be acquired exclusively through official FIFA channels.
How is this different from TripAdvisor or Google Maps?
Generic platforms give the same results to everyone. UPP is curated specifically for the World Cup context — every recommendation is selected for an international visitor during the tournament, with positioning, safety and match-day logistics in mind. No ads, no sponsored listings, no noise.
Is the content available offline?
The platform is web-based and requires an internet connection. We recommend downloading Google Maps offline for CDMX before arriving — in case of low connectivity near the stadium or in transit.
Is my personal data secure?
Yes. United Pitch Pass does not sell or share member data with third parties. Your purchase information is processed securely through Stripe and your access credentials are stored privately.
